Sandy River Delta Off-Leash Dog Park

by Anne-Marie Smith December 20, 2021

Sandy River Delta Off-Leash Dog Park in Troutdale, Oregon is not explicitly an off-leash dog park. You will also see hikers, bikers, horseback riders, and fishermen out there so remember to always keep your dog under your control at all times. Along with these distractions, you’ll want to keep an eye out for wildlife and make sure your dog doesn’t chase it.

The US Forest Service also asks that you do not allow your dog to dig holes for their own and your own safety. Nobody wants to step into an unseen hole. The Sandy River Delta off-leash Dog Park is located at the confluence of the Sandy and Columbia rivers, at the western end of the Columbia River Gorge.

There is a $5 parking fee. You can pay here or go to the Vendor Locations for Purchasing Passes website to find a location near you to purchase a pass.

Each of the three areas has seating for humans, which all have a good amount of shade. In the small and large off-leash dog run areas, pet and people-friendly water fountains have been added. Because this park is fairly popular, your dog will have plenty of friends to play with. This is an excellent place to socialize shy dogs.

Happy Valley Dog Park Amenities

However, they are located within the park itself, which means it is a little bit of a walk to get there. Grass and dirt make up the off-leash area. The grass is kept in good condition on a regular basis.

Pick-up bags and garbage cans are available at several waste stations located along the dog park’s fence line. You should, as always, bring your own bags in case they run out.

by Anne-Marie Smith December 12, 2021

Keizer Rapids Dog Park is a huge and scenic park in Keizer, Oregon. On its more than 100 acres, there is plenty of room for all types of dogs to run around. Whether your dog is large or little, there are separate spaces for small and large dogs. This protects little or shy dogs from larger or more aggressive dogs. Allow your dog to go around the park to exercise stiff joint muscles while staying fit.

About Keizer Rapids Dog Park

There is thick, lush grass in both park surrounds, which is beautifully kept in both places. In addition to grass, the main enclosure has a sanded section. In case of heavy rain, which is typical for the area, especially in winter, covered shelters are accessible at both locations. Visitors will find it easy to access the Keizer Rapids Dog Park because it is located near the parking lot. A supply of poop bags can be found in the enclosure.

You can also use the trash can outside of the enclosure. It is suggested that you bring a large bag for carrying your used bags. The dog park has a few benches, picnic tables and a small kitchen area. However, it is not allowed to be used for food or glass containers. For the convenience of smaller dogs, the small dog enclosure has miniature fire hydrants that are not operational.

Additional Park Features
